Message from the President

As the former telecommunication incumbent of Germany, DT has only recently developed an international business, however quite successfully so in Eastern and Western Europe and the US. However, Japan as the most advanced, competitive - and deregulated - market has in effect not been easy to access for foreign operators. An extended offering of telecommunication services by DT in Japan in the future shall depend on future opportunities, however representing an attractive option for any global player in the telecommunications industry. To be a good corporate citizen in Japan, is a privilege for DT, which we will honor and build on in the future.
Dr. Horst Melcher,
President Deutsche Telekom K.K.
